This Week

Nearly May.  Not nearly warm enough.

I know I complain a lot about the weather on my Wednesday posts, but COME ON.  I’m still wearing sweatshirts and ankle boots.  This is malarky.

This week, however, is a good one.  We had a great last weekend in Florida and celebrated my husband’s big 30th birthday on Monday.  Tuesday was a great-food-and-friends filled day, starting with breakfast with Megan and Katherine at Hudson Clearwater (get the cinnamon buns!) and dinner with Victoria at ABC Cocina before we attended a Raising The Bar lecture.  This weekend I’m FINALLY going to unpack the last few boxes and head over to Victoria’s for more Mexican food and an epic game night with Julia, Viviana, and the husbands.  Pumped.

Lots of big news broke this week – check out the must-know stories below:

  • In “men behaving abhorrently” news, we have Gurbaksh Chahal.  The CEO of RadiumOne, he was eventually fired by the board after his guilty plea to two misdemeanors associated with the attack of his girlfriend last year.  What disturbs me is the apparent lack of remorse from Chahal and how long it took the board to take action.
  • Palate cleanser – the hardest Mean Girls quiz you’ll ever take.  Good thing it’s free to view on Netflix streaming!
  • This is horrifying – over 200 girls were kidnapped in Nigeria from a physics test.  The cause?  To prevent them from getting an education.
  • Emma Stone’s talents apparently have no limits.  Lip syncing is just one of them.
  • While men in the news seem to, well, suck, women like Elizabeth Holmes give me hope. #whoruntheworld
  • Speaking of amazing women, what are you getting your mother for Mom’s Day?  Stephanie Johnson is offering 30% off with code “moms“, and Lemon Stripes has an amazing selection of Mother’s Day gifts.

What’s new with you this week?  More importantly, how’s that weather?  Let me know!
