Skirting The Issue

Polished. Pulled together. Surprisingly comfortable.

That’s what this outfit is.

I’ve had to step up my workwear game as of late, and have been reaching for this entire look once a week (and sometimes twice).

This knit pencil skirt, designed by my friend Morgan, is heaven. The vertical stripes are flattering, and the stretchy knit fabric makes it easy to walk and move in.  Paired with a coordinating turtleneck (and a shape wear tank underneath), and it’s a Meghan Markle-esque look that’s appropriate for nearly any occasion. Pitch meetings, running around the city, a dinner date…you name it.

And then there’s the shoes. I’ve been living in these Taryn Rose ankle boots all fall and winter. Insanely comfortable, classic, and they go with virtually everything I own. Taryn brings her vast experience as an orthopedic surgeon to her shoe collection, which are designed with comfort and foot health.

They’re also beautiful. I own these leather boots and slides, and just added these loafers, these fur-trimmed beauties, and these wedges to my collection.

Topped with a wool coat, my favorite ladylike bag, and fleece-lined tights (hello, winter), and you have my favorite outfit for any occasion right now.

It’s a good thing I picked up more turtlenecks (in navy, camel, and gray) and skirts (a lighter colorway and this tan & black one). I’ll be wearing this look until summer hits.

Here’s another navy and gray work outfit, and here’s how I organize my notebook to get everything done. You can see what I keep in my winter work bag here.
