This Week with Sara Zucker

While I’m out on maternity leave, I’ve tapped some of my favorite writers to share a little bit about themselves and their all-time favorite links. Sit back, relax, and enjoy these links. And if you’re curious as to what I’m up to, follow me on Instagram!

This Week with Sara Zucker

In her words –  Sara. Full-time, Sara leads social media for the new beauty brand Glossier, a girl-powered company who look to rethink beauty by making it fun, easy, personal, and imperfect as well as its accompanying editorial website Into the Gloss. Part-time, Sara is constantly on a grail quest to find: the softest pair of sweatpants, the cheapest bottle of Prosecco that won’t give me a hangover, and the best bargain for anything.

In Hitha’s words –  There are few things I love better than geeking out with Sara over a glass (okay, a bottle) of bubbly. Books. Beauty. Politics. General tomfoolery. Nothing is off-limits, and this girl has an intelligent AND entertaining opinion on…well, everything. She’s also one of the kindest people I know. Farpitz only scratches the surface of how amazing Sara is. But it’s a start.

Now, onto Sara’s favorites:

  • The New York Public Library revealed its list of 2015 Young Lions Fiction Award Finalists and as a former Young Lion [and certified librarian], these writers are ones to watch…and read.
  • If I could raise a foam finger for a blog post, it would be for Felicia’s recent musings on networking, entitlement, and proper professional etiquette. She hits the nail on the head with all of it and I responded in kind.
  • Buzzfeed has been killing it lately with things other than listicles. For example, this story that identifies the levels of ridiculous that are jean sizing. Basically, it affirms the belief that you should ignore the size on a label and seek out the clothing that fits best.
  • What does nothing look like? NatGeo enlisted the help of photographer Murray Fredericks to find out and the results are pretty mind-blowing.
  • Cyber bullying is super uncool and getting more popular by the day thanks to the anonymity of the interwebz. Didn’t your mother teach you that “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all?” If not, read this article.
  • Sara always finds the coolest stuff on the Internet. My current favorite – this classic striped shirt with a little something extra.
