This Week

Greetings from Sydney!  I’ve quickly learned why everyone who’s been here is enamored by this city – it’s beautiful (both architecturally and its people), the food is outstanding, and the weather is fantastic.  The coffee – ooooooh, sweet delicious caffeine.  Flat whites, you complete me.  Since my next visit to Australia will take me to Melbourne, I’m exploring this city as much as possible (and documenting everything on Instagram via my amazing XCom Global MiFi).  If you have Sydney recommendations, leave them in the comments!

So yeah, Australia – pretty much the highlight of my week.  I wish Google Maps, however, had a dress code option for the locations it recommends.  Traipsing through Westfield Center (think Rodeo Drive or Madison Avenue) in skinny boyfriend jeans and a t-shirt emblazoned with “I <3 Boys with Superpowers” may not have been the best idea.  Particularly when I had the PERFECT dress hanging in my hotel room closet.  AND there were at least 3 Le Pain locations closer to my hotel.  *sigh*

Let’s get to the links, shall we?

  • To think traveling a few decades ago was a glamorous experience.  The crick in my neck from 15 hours in a middle seat just got more painful.
  • Kourtney Kardashian’s home – wow.  While it’s not strictly my style, I love how playful and bold her decor is.
  • Miroslava Duma is one of my role models, and this article only grew my admiration for her as an entrepreneur, a new model, and a mother.
  • New-to-me productivity tips – genuinely curious if that almond butter trick actually works.
  • I was so excited to see Rebecca’s pillows for Calypso St. Barth featured here!  Her pouch is one of my favorite-in-life items – I won’t go anywhere without it.
  • Another travel MVP shout-out goes to my Michael Kors miniature satchel – it’s fit my neck pillow, my airport essentials (passport, money, phone, lip balm) and was my go-to handbag during last week’s cocktail receptions and business dinners.  You can also snag it here (love the pale pink), here, and here.
  • Brava, Nicolette and Brad, for turning the Lena Dunham airbrushing debacle into something incredibly positive.  You have my support AND my money.
  • Honest titles for this year’s Oscar nominees.  This had me ugly laughing AND snorting.

If you’re in the throes of the polar vortex’s return, stay warm!
