A true history buff, I’m especially fascinated by the ’50s and ’60s. Naturally, I’m a fan of Jackie Kennedy – who isn’t? I’m especially excited about the release of this new book, and decided to share with you some of my favorite reads related to JKO, about her and edited by her.

Jackie as Editor: The Literary Life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis – One quality I especially admire about our former First Lady is her love for books. I admire how she converted her passion into her career. While most of the books she edited are no longer in print, I’ve been able to track down titles that piqued my interest. A Second Paradise and Dancing On My Grave have joined my list of favorite books.

Bobby and Jackie: A Love Story – I first learned about this book reading Megan’s blog, but was unable to put it down once I started reading. This compelling read on the public relationship between Jackie and Bobby is addictive, both for the details on their relationship and the nonchalance of affairs in the ’60s.

Grace and Power: The Private World of the Kennedy White House – This book is, as the title states, about the Jack-Jackie relationship in the White House. A bit more academic than the other two, this book is harder to get into but equally enlightening about Jackie.

If books aren’t your cup of tea, you should certainly check out The Kennedys (available for streaming on Netflix).
