What’s Inside #HGQ03 (+ Giveaway)

HGQ03 Everything

I can’t believe it’s mid-December. I can’t believe 2014 is nearly over.

And I can’t believe my third Quarterly box has shipped. Even being a Quarterly curator, among the likes of Nina Garcia and Bill Nye, still amazes me.

Back to #HGQ03. I feel like I say this with every box, but this one is my favorite.

The contents are pretty awesome (if I do say so myself), but this box reflects just how much Hitha On The Go has evolved this year. The website grew from a blog that’s a hobby to a multimedia website that empowers you to pack faster and live better.

If any of my Quarterly boxes reflects that mission, it is #HGQ03.

The theme of this box was ‘pack your clothing perfectly.’ Every item in the box works together to help you do just that. AND many of them are items that I use on a regular basis to keep my clothing organized at home.

HGQ03 MiracleFold

MiracleFold Junior ($24)

I swear by my MiracleFold (last seen here) for folding laundry at home. The junior size is excellent for repacking clothing when you’re on the road. This gadget fits perfectly inside my Tumi carry-on and makes repacking a breeze.

I know this box shipped later than expected, and it was because the shipment of the MiracleFold Juniors was delayed, as it’s a brand new product. I apologize that the boxes may not have arrived in time for Thanksgiving travels, but I hope you agree that this was worth waiting for.

HGQ03 Hair Ties

Mane Message Hair Ties ($10)

I get it. You already own countless pieces of elastic to secure your ponytails.

But have you ever used them to secure your rolled clothing? That’s what I use these babies for.

I picked Mane Message specifically as they don’t leave creases – in your hair OR in your clothes. Which leaves you with unwrinkled pants and crease-free hair. A win all-around.

HGQ03 Laundry Bag

Kikkerland Travel Laundry Bag ($11)

Yes, you can certainly use the plastic bag provided by the hotel. Or a shopping bag you stash in your suitcase.

But you may end up with your clean items smelling as stinky as your dirty clothing *dumps all clothing from suitcase to hamper*

A fabric laundry bag helps prevent odors from seeping out (tip – keep a dryer sheet in the bag to further absorb smells). This one folds up in a tiny square when not in use (read – more room for clothing) and is machine washable. Your suitcase may not smell like roses, but it won’t smell like sweaty socks either. You can also use this bag to transport sweaty gym clothes on a regular basis.

HGQ03 Fabric Fresh

The Laundress Fabric Refresher ($8) and Stain Solution ($1)

One of the tips I preach is re-wearing your clothing. This tip would be impossible to follow without the help of the Fabric Refresher from The Laundress. The travel-sized bottle never leaves my liquids bag, and is the sole reason why I can re-wear items when I’m traveling.

There was some feedback on the inconvenient packaging / use of the stain solution, and I apologize for that. The stain solution does work great, but the packaging meant you only have a single use of it. I’ll be sure that items selected in the future can be used multiple times.

HGQ03 Packing Guide

Pack Perfect – Clothing Guide ($18)

This last item was the BIGGEST labor of love. A big part of the website relaunch are my in-depth packing guides, which walk you through my system of selecting and packing various travel items. It only made sense to include the clothing packing guide in this box.

If you struggle with editing down your clothing, creating outfits for your trip, and getting them in the suitcase – this guide is for you. We break everything down, step-by-step, so you can pack the perfect clothing every time you travel. What’s special about this guide is that it’s timeless – it doesn’t matter whether you’re packing to go home for the holidays or a beach vacation. The process and tips work for any destination, any length, any time.

If you want to completely change the way you pack, I can’t recommend this item more highly *shameless plug*
