This Week

In denial that it’s already October.  If only the weather reflected that!

Some highlights from the past week include spending an inspiring few days in Iowa City (more on that, I promise), rearranging our common room (strangely, it’s the original orientation but with new furniture), and geeking out over multiple seasons over The Big Bang Theory (because I’m a nerd, and you all know that).

Things I’m looking forward to this week – attending M.M LaFleur’s first Salon Series with Dana tonight, having a reunion of our summer potluck crew tomorrow, and celebrating Jessica’s birthday this weekend.

Other things that made my week:

  • Have you met Aslan?  I’m fully obsessed with him – and I can’t wait to CUDDLE him on Thursday.  You’ve been warned, Grace (PS – go check out the gorgeous new Stripes and Sequins).
  • A fun (and money-saving) fact – generic drugs are the same as prescription drugs.  Save yourself the extra money and always go generic when it comes to even the basic of medicines.  Just be sure that the drugs are manufactured in the United States/Europe.
  • I’ve always been an admirer of Chelsea Clinton (a girl who suffered pre-flatironed hair and orthodontia with commentary by Rush Limbaugh), and this article made me an even bigger fan of hers.  I dare say that she attained girl crush territory.
  • Chocolate mousse made healthy?  Thank you, Robin Quivers.
  • Before I went on my young adult reading kick, I was enthralled by The Night Circus – highly recommended if you need an enjoyable, light-but-significant novel to get lost in.
  • I found this feature on Angelina Jolie’s breast surgeon to be fascinating – as is the work that the Pink Lotus Breast Center is doing.  In my experience, cancer care centers are either top-notch and EXPENSIVE, or budget friendly and overly extended.  It’s nice to see one that focuses on quality care for everyone.
  • I look forward to Usha’s monthly social post, and October may be my favorite yet.  Betrayal and Madison Park Eats are high on my list of things to do this month.

What do you have going on this week?  Any fun plans this weekend?  COMMENT below and let me know!
