This Week

This week felt like it was never going to end.

Both personally and with what’s going on.

I try to limit my meetings and events to Tuesdays and Thursdays, giving me the other days to buckle down and get actual work done. That wasn’t the case this week.

It was an incredibly productive one, from a day long meeting with advisors for Rho Pharma on Sunday to lunch with my dad and an old partner .

It was the best kind of busy – a holiday preview (we’re doing something new with gift guides this year!), the launch party for MM.LaFleur‘s new showroom by Bryant Park, and starting to plan Sundara’s annual fundraiser.

And, you know, calling all my elected officials to tell them exactly how I feel about gun control, reproductive rights, and the state of the nation. Resistbot – bringing back fax machines from the 1990s.

My husband’s in the office all weekend preparing for his company’s massive presentation, so it’ll just be Rho, my dad, and me.

And the park. Lots of playground time.

  • Ruth Bader Ginsberg is an American icon. I, for one, can’t wait for her fitness book to come out.
  • The SHU Box is one of my favorite blogs. This post on our phone use is just another reason why. I’ve started using the Moment app after reading it, and am horrified at how much time I spend on my phone. Help?
  • I got a sneak peek of the Cherry Bombe cookbook this week and it is GOOD. And gorgeous. Pre-order it here.
  • Of all the programs to expand in elementary education, this one tops the list.
  • Julia’s post on emotional labor hits the nail on the head. I have had these EXACT thoughts (and subsequent spats) that she recounts. If I’m being honest – we still do. But I’ve learned to speak up on the issues that truly bother me, and (mostly) let go on the things that don’t.
  • A few things that caught my eye this week – these boots, this hair rinse (for when your hair is more dry shampoo than actual hair), and this.

The latest…
