The Week Ahead 10.29.2012

I am currently holed up in my apartment, waiting for the natural disaster known as Sandy to pass.  I’m hating the storm itself, but thoroughly enjoying its parody Twitter account.

I had all sorts of ambitious plans this week – visiting two potential office spaces in the city (and subsequently spending hours on Pinterest figuring out how to decorate them) and meeting the Hunter Dixon girls for Lucky Shops.

Speaking of Lucky Shops – have you entered my giveaway?  I can’t think of a better way to treat yourself for surviving this disaster than buying yourself some pretty new things.

Before Sandy hit, I did have a fun weekend.  My husband and I, dressed as our Taco Bell favorites, went to Grace‘s Halloween party on Friday night.  In attendance was Daenerys Targareyn & her dragon, Star Trek commanders, and Malibu’s Most Wanted (at least, that’s what I think he was dressed up as).  I rigged up our costumes that day – here’s the requisite in-the-mirror portrait of mine:

My Taco Bell obsession really knows no bounds.

We saw Looper on Saturday night (awesome, awesome movie – go see it!).  I wore the same red lip that I did on Friday.  NARS Dragon Girl is my new favorite.  I may or may not be wearing it now, in my sweats, typing away on my computer.

I’ll be spending the early part of this week praying that power doesn’t go out – and working if it’s on.

If power does go out…well, I’m fully stocked with blankets, magazines and books, and bottles of water & protein bars.

And homemade cupcakes.  Baking is my preferred mode of coping with impending disasters.

Stay safe and dry, readers.
