This winter has got me down more than usual.  I rarely venture out, opting to huddle in my couch and eat straight out of takeout containers, watching a healthy mix of junky TV and inspiring documentaries (last night’s MAKERS doc – beyond inspirational).

But when my lovely girlfriends Rachel and Courtney invited me to lunch at Tao, during Restaurant Week nonetheless, I couldn’t resist.

The afternoon was well-worth leaving my warm apartment for.  We all ordered different dishes and shared them (the satay skewers, sushi, and banana pudding were standouts), laughing and chatting about the upcoming Fashion Week.  While Rachel had to jet back to work, Courtney and I wandered towards the park and found the plaza adjacent to Bergdorf’s and The Plaza totally empty.

We did what any self-respecting style blogger would do – we shed our coats and snapped pictures.

And then we ran into Bottega del Vino for the city’s best cappuccino – the perfect way to warm up.

Pink jeans and a few hours with friends are the best of pick-me-ups.
