Vacation is over, and we’re flying back home to NYC today. This trip, while trying at times, was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Also, the incredible pleasure of flying Asiana Airlines (confession – in first class, thanks to the hundreds of thousands of miles amassed in 2012) made the trip home a lot easier. But that’s a story for another day.
Highlights of the week - coming home, attending a dinner hosted by the governor of Iowa (seriously blessed), and getting back in my normal routine. The lowlights – forking over cash for a new phone. *gulp*
Some links I loved from this week:
- This book could not have been published at a better time. I can’t wait to jump into this exercise program!
- I never was a huge Carrie Bradshaw fan (I was all about Miranda and Samantha), and I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt this way.
- New addition to the Girl Crush Club – Rashida Jones. This article – it’s everything.
- So buying this Molton Brown travel set – I’ve missed my MB goodies on this trip. (Hint – it makes a great gift too!)
- Get to know the new woman leading GM, Mary Barra. STEM chicks (she’s an electrical engineer) FTW.
- I loved these productivity tips – a timely read as I enter the end-of-year crunch.
What’s new with you this week? Any fun plans this weekend? Leave a comment and let me know.
And if you haven’t already, be sure to enter my Hudson+Bleecker giveaway – it ends Friday!
I’m a sucker for a deal. And for one-click checkouts. And rapid, free shipping.
So it only makes that I’m the biggest fan of MYHABIT, Amazon’s flash sale website.
A MYHABIT addiction isn’t exclusive to me, in my family. My sister-in-law purchased GORGEOUS cushions for her breakfast nook from the website. I purchased the most amazing pair of wedges, a rug for the home, and sadly lost out on my dream Prada bag multiple times. It has all the excitement of Gilt, but with Amazon’s checkout efficiency. To put it concisely, an online shopaholic’s dream come true.
Yesterday’s sale (plenty of amazing pieces left on sale!), which may be the greatest of all time, is the reason of today’s post. The Road Less Traveled features all the designer shoes of my dreams – Prada, Derek Lam, Saint Laurent…oh my. Shoe shopping and a glass of wine was how I spent last night’s #singlegirldinner.
Don’t take my word for it. Join MYHABIT and check it for yourself. On my current shopping list – a new rug (I rearranged my living room-dining room-office AGAIN last night), baby gifts for my friends’ newborn babies, and maybe a new bag for myself.
Disclosure – this post was sponsored by MYHABIT. However, I only partner with brands (like MYHABIT and parent company Amazon) I love and am a loyal customer of. Thank you to the brands and you, the readers, that keep Hitha On The Go running – I love you all!
I teased you with this incredible company yesterday, featuring their incredible CEO Ruzwana in my En Route With.. series.
Today, I’m sharing why you need to know about Peek. In addition to curating the best things to do in the United States, they’ve now launched in EUROPE – London and Paris specifically. And if you can’t take a vacation anytime soon (*cough*ME*cough), scrolling through the beautifully designed website is a close second.
One of Ruzwana’s favorite experiences is the olive oil tasting in Napa, but I’m keen on many of the PARIS options – a day trip to Champagne, a classic French pastry class, a treasure hunt at the Louvre. Can you tell I have France on my mind? Just a little bit?
I’d love to know – what is the experience YOU would most like to have from Peek? COMMENT below and let me know.
